What actually makes coconut oil "fractionated"?

Regular coconut oil is solid at room temperature because it contains a long chain of heavy, thick fatty acids (mostly Lauric Acid).

To make it fractionated, the oil undergoes a natural, chemical-free process called steam distillation. The raw oil is heated until it melts, then allowed to cool very slowly. Because different fatty acids solidify at different temperatures, the heavy, pore-clogging fats (Lauric Acid) harden first and separate to the bottom.

The remaining liquid portion on top is "fractioned" off. What is left behind is an ultra-pure, featherlight liquid containing only liquid medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). It will never turn solid, never clog pores, and lasts for years without spoiling.

Daily Body Oil

Create Your Own Botanical Scrub

For a fresh, single-use scrub, combine two parts sugar or salt with one part Hydro-Lock oil and mix just before use. Massage gently over the body, avoiding the face, broken skin, and irritated areas. Rinse carefully, as oil can make shower and bath surfaces slippery. Do not store a homemade scrub containing water or wet ingredients.
